Sebastien Fournier

Sébastien sings since his very early years as a trebble in the Lyon's boys choir. He could there develop a strong taste and skills in early music, where his countertenor voice comes from. When he grew up he studied music and performance at the conservatoire and the university of Lyon. After that, he completed his training in London at the Guildhall school and drama with great masters such as Michael Chance, Laura Sarti, David Pollard …
His experience in early music led him to work with the greatest ensembles like “ les Arts Florissants – William Christie, the musicians of the Louvre – Marc Minkowski, Accentus – Laurence Equilbey …
After a while, he created his own barock ensemble « Sprezzatura » who he recorded several recordings and regularly perform with. He was Lucky enough to perform in Shanghai in 2011 for the prestigious Hermès House « Salon de Musique » with Sprezzatura and the David Drouard dance company. He just garve a recital on the 19th of september 2012 at the famous « Villa Medici » in Roma.
In 2010 he was granted the honor to represent his mother country at the Shanghai World Expo where he performed over 18 performances with Sprezzatura as full barock orchestra. There he met Xiaojie Cristau, a guqin and crystal player who with he performat the french pavilion.
Finally, his curiosity led him to meet Christine Cayol, and perform in his international house of arts in Beijing. Thanks to his help and friendship, he regularly goes to China to perform and teaches at the Beijing Conservatory with either french or chinese musicians. He sang at the great Yishu-8 opening on the 13th of march 2012.
For him, this collaboration with Christine Cayol opened a totally new era of artistic discovery and musical future.
